Thank you so much! I have visited the Hetrina online and found a list of battles that he was in. I knew that there was a Johannes Clobes who was a Hessian soldier, however, I can't find documentation that proves Johannes Clobes is John Clovis other than what had passed down through the family that John Clovis was a Hessian soldier. The only record that I have found that is possibly him is a church record at Altalha Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rehrersburg,Berks County, Pennsylvania. The name on the record Is Johannes Klobes and Susannah had a son Conrad. John Clovis had a wife named Susannah and he also had a son named Conrad. The records about the person we are certain are our John Clovis are in Washington County, Maryland, Fayette County, Pennsylvania and Lincoln County, North Carolina. I have proof that Susannah Sailor was married to John Clovis in a North Carolina deed where her father left land to her and names John as her husband and says they are living in Washington County, Maryland. I am looking for proof that Johannes Clobes listed in the Hetrina is the same as John Clovis. I am not sure where to search for records that would prove this. I have looked at Washington County, Maryland, Berks county, Pennsylvania records but no luck. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
