In 1746, a man named Joshua Crump was interested in buying the property of George Minot (of Boston) near Cape Fear in North Carolina. See: New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Vol. 52, 1898, p. 472.
The offer on his property was brought to Minot by David Algeo.
I would like to know more about Joshua Crump. There is a Josiah Crump in North Carolina about this time but his birth year is commonly given as 1734, so that doesn't fit, even apart from the difference in given name.
With very little to go on, I'm trying to figure out where David Algeo came from (literally) and I am hoping that understanding his connection to Joshua Crump might help. But it starts with knowing where Crump might have been when he gave the letter to Algeo to convey his offer to George Minot.
A very thin reed, I know. Any help appreciated.
