So many options for ways to vote in the Photo and Profile of the Week Contests

Good Morning WikiTree!

For the longest time we've only used the +1 button for Google and the Facebook "Like" to vote for photos and profiles in our weekly contests, but I realized recently that that line of little icons with sharing options that appears on the photo page just below the page title keeps a tally or shares as well. I have seen the G+ tally there, but never used the rest. If you click that red plus sign after the little icons, you can vote by sharing that photo or profile page all around the web. So, you can vote using Google, but if you also use Twitter, Pinterest, Stumblupon, Tumblr, etc, those are in that red plus sign and you can vote using them also!  

If you want to share or vote for the photos and profiles you like on several platforms, DO! Give those other buttons a run, in addition to our normal use of the +1 and like buttons. Sharing your favorites and and thus voting multiple times that way makes *fantastic* cousin bait.

I know some of you have never participated in our "of the week projects" because they don't use Google or Facebook but there are 200+ sharing options on that drop down, so maybe this will give you the opportunity.

Excellent! Although I think some of us (ahem, me) might have been led astray by the line under each profile that says "Vote by clicking Google's +1 button under XXX's profile."  I wonder if whoever has the ability to edit that could expand the options there, too. Maybe something like "Vote by selecting one of the "share" options under XXX's name in their profile."

We are now taking nominations for Profile of the Week, First Week of December. It will be easier than ever to win now that you can vote multiple times for the same profile. The new voting starts now with this week's contest. Have fun!!

Since the Profile of the Week project is just now finding out about this change, our winner for this week will be the number of G+ votes, as it has been in the past. I would like for the project members to have time to be aware of this change before it effects the winner results, in the spirit of fairness.
