Ussery of Virginia and North Carolina - project help needed!

This profile, including the attach parents and attached spouse, appears to be a conflation of two different people-- Thomas Ussery and William Ussery. Please read the narrative for details.

We're seeking help from researchers familiar with either the surname or Lunenberg, Virginia records, or North Carolina records, to help figure out the family construction for each man.

It appears the parents might be conflations as well. Note that middle names were not used during this era and place.

There is also a list of children in the narrative that does not match the list of children attached.

Your help is appreciated.

I cannot speak to the identities of William Ussery and Thomas Ussery, but I can assure you that the James Essary in your list is genetically unrelated to any of the Usserys. Except for a tribe of Essarys from Claiborne County, Tennessee, the "E" spelling family has so far proven genetically related. But unrelated to the "U" spelling family. In fact there are tribes (spellings) of the "U" family that appear genetically unrelated to each other.

Gary, which James do you mean? THe only James I see attached to this profile is:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ussery-67

It's basically empty and sourceless and has no other relations besides the parents.
There is only one James Essary in his profile.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Essary-3

It should be removed as there is no possibility of a close relationship to the Usserys.
Ah, in the list of children in the narrative. I've removed him from that list.  He was not otherwise attached as a child.
Thank you. I might add that the "U" family(s) must have arrived in the Colonies one or more generations before the "E" family (c1740?). The "E" family historical connection to Devon Esworthys was actually sussed out by a "U" family genealogist whose pro genealogist in England suggested an Usworthy connection. We now have DNA confirmation for the "E" family connection to Esworthy, but have no news for the "U" family.
Very helpful, Gary, to understand the two spellings have been determined to represent distinct families. Sure wish we could find a goof "U" researcher to help us detangle this family. It's a multi-generation mess.
