Is that a comment on the profile?  Those post automatically when someone proposes a merge.  I think you can delete it if the merge is complete.

Or you can archive it.
Or ignore it.
But .. but it's no longer relevant!
And so annoying to those with CDO, (OCD but in correct alphabetical order!)
CDO is no joking matter.

I generally archive those comments -- when I remember to do so -- and I saw Jamie respond to a similar query with an answer that the correct thing to do is archive them.
Actually, I erred.  Jamie didn't SAY it, but selected as Best Answer the post that did say it.

So, essentially, archiving those merge comments is the best thing to do.  Other solutions are less than best.
I have OCD, but I call it CDO because I try to be lighthearted about it.

Marion, I have joked about CDO for decades, even while wiping every teaspoon on the table three times, even though they just came from being washed, or lining up the cutlery to the exact same distance from the table edge.

Not joking about joking about not joking about it can get so convoluted it becomes in itself a form of CDO.

Needing to get rid of those outdated comments is another form, albeit a mild version (for some).  Needing to line sources up, so they are all indent to the same level, and not all higgledy-piggledy so aligned full left, some indented, is another.

(Trying to stay on topic so we don't get dinged. cheeky)
