I'm working to improve the profile of William Sewell a US Civil War General and Senator. His 1880 census shows a daughter names Isabella Sewell born about 1860 in Pennsylvania. She doesn't show in other records but I think she may be from an earlier marriage. I've exhausted my search on FamilySearch.org. Can you help me make this connection with sources from elsewhere?
I found a gravestone of a Mary Isabella Sewell Courlaeder that was buried with her mother in Philidelphia, 1858-1927. Her father, William J. Sewell, is listed but is not buried with them. Is this William Joyce Sewell?
Her mother is named Eugenia and died in 1862 after giving birth to a William Eugene Sewell. I have not created a profile for Eugenia since I have not found a last name at birth. Eugenia and the baby William both list the same address on their death certificate.
I’m doing this to help with next week’s connection finder profiles that will feature US Civil War generals: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1289119/help-improve-weeks-connection-finder-profiles-civil-generals
His profile is adoptable
