Jackson Stutz is my brick wall. Can you help break through? [closed]

Jackson Stutz exists only as a name written on my grandfather's [https://www.wikitree.com/photo.php/2/2f/Stutz-29-2.jpg SS-5]. The family believes he was an Orthodox Jew based in either New York (Manhattan or the Bronx) or Illinois (Chicago or Cicero)... and that's what we think we know about this enigma in our family tree.

Can you help break through this brick wall?

At least you have his death date as before the son's SS application, Sept 1940.

Enter that and anything else about places and it might narrow your searches.

Good hunting!

I don't have anything but a name and I'm not confident that is his birth name. It might have been changed or Americanized on or after immigration. I have no details for Jackson Stutz.
After I posted that, I was looking thru the kids profiles and saw they were all Wrexler in the 1900 census, so the parent's death date is probably before 1900.

However there are discrepancies on the 1900 census data as well, on Cecelia"s profile, age 6, she is listed as the daughter of Sarah and the 'sister' of all the others, real Wexlers as well as her presumed real brothers and sisters. Note the real Wexler kids are listed as born in Russia, but on the 1905 Census that has morphed to Romania.  Also, you haven't listed the 1900 Census on Samuel's profile, but he is there.  It lists his, and his Wexler parents as imigrating in 1890 from Russia, his birthplace- you have listed NY.  On the census, Sarah is listed as having the number of children who are on the census.

Samuel lists his mother as partially dependent on his 1917 WWI draft reg card, again pointing to Sarah as 'mother'.

I'm thinking you should enter Wexler profiles and see if you can track anything there, especially concerning Sarah and the 1890 immigration.

Just thought I'd check some ship's manifests. There is a Jacob Stutz on La Gascogne, arrival 1892 and I think I saw a S Wexler on the same ship before the website died.  Not sure if either connected.
