Need help with Cain relatives in Maritime Provinces.

Question

My ancestors landed in Nova Scotia in early 1800s. Some then moved to Newfoundland, then some moved to PEI. I found Cains in all of those places but have gotten no response from them. Please Help if you are related or know any Cains.

There are some letters etc that exist. Is there a certain historic cain you're related to?

My great grandfather was Aaron Peter Cain (1845-1931), married to Bridget Tobin Cain. He immigrated to Chelsea, Maine after his son (my grandfather William Cain) married my grandmother. From family records I learned that his father was David Cain (1811-1845). His father was John David Cain (1790-?) and David had a brother John. John David was born in Dublin and died in Newfoundland-Labrador. The boys had a sister Sarah born in Newfoundland-Labrador but the boys were born in Prince county, PEI so I may have his death place wrong.

Hi there! I’m also hoping to find info on the origins of the Cain family in Nova Scotia specifically for now. I have a Patrick Cain, DOB 1804 +/- with death at 1874 in Kings County. I have the death certificate on NS vital statistics. His homeland is listed at Waterford, Ireland.

My Ancestry gives me a James Cain - likely someone else’s entry.

There are matching tools posted that will connect you (with a bit of work) to other members of the group who are typically very responsive and knowledgeable.
