Per Wikipedia  “Christina's World is a 1948 painting by American painter Andrew Wyeth. The woman in the painting is Anna Christina Olson (May 3, 1893 – January 27, 1968). Anna had a degenerative muscular disorder which meant that she could not walk since she was roughly 30 years old. She was firmly against using a wheelchair, so she would crawl everywhere. Wyeth was inspired to create the painting when he saw her crawling across a field while he was watching from a window in the house.”

A very interesting story. We need collaboration connecting her to the Wikitree family. Is she a notable?

Possible her maternal Hathorn lineage is related to Nathaniel Hawthorn?

Father is Swedish born (census shows him born in Sweden). She has Swedish ancestry! The father married a Hathorn which I believe has colonial American roots possibly related to Hawthorn.

I’m curious as to why she didn’t want to use a wheelchair? Was she angry which is understandable or another reason? Very interesting person.
