I proposed the merge of the 2 profiles.  As Heather said, you should be able to adopt the 2nd profile.  Since you will then be on Trusted List of both profiles, you should be able to complete the merge, which would have to be done into the earlier sequence of Cockrell-752.

You need to email info @ wikitree.com and ask them to merge Cockrell-868 into Cockrell-752, and to remove the death date from Cockrell-752.

It might get a little wonky with a "user" profile. I can't recall if you need admin assistance or not.

It might work if the profile is adopted, then the death date removed and an email added.  Maybe.

I've merged two profiles representing an active user without any problem.  My one sibling did it, too.

I tried to be kind and remove the death date myself; then I got a banner saying the profile would become Unlisted and there was nobody to take it over.

My suggestion: don't try to be clever.  Just let info @ do their thing.
