Looking for info on parents marriage, Charles and Patricia Lundin Lawrence

Question

I have not been able to find the marriage license, date, or location of when and where my parents married. My father grew up in Hood River, OR. He also lived in Portland. My mother lived in Portland as far as I know. I was born in 1956 in Portland. I don't know why I can't find anything about when and where they married.

Patricia Ann Lunden died 10 Sep 2011 and there is an obituary in the Hood River News. There may also be an obituary there for your father that could provide more information to work with. I did not find a marriage record at  familysearch.org

Thank you for your help, but this would be the wrong couple. My father was Charles William Garfield Lawrence. I don't think that Garfield was used much though. My mother was Patricia May Lundin. She was born in May of 1940 and died on April 25, 2012.

There is a marriage record in Skamania County Washington.

C.W. Lawrence marries Patricia Lundeen Aug 10 1956.

His birth date May 24 1909, her birth date May 17 1938,she was 18 when married.

Minnesota birth index 1935-1940

The above mentioned marriage certificate shows C. W. Lawrence of the county of Clackamas and Patricia Lundeen of the county of Multnomah, Oregon. Witnesses are O.C. Daniels and Lois Daniels.

Yes, My grandfather was Hilmer Lundin and grandmother was Leona.

I just spoke to a close family member. She said that back then, sometimes the name Lundin was spelled as Lundeen. I don't know why, but it was done. So I guess maybe she wasn't lying about that, just her age, which I know a lot of people have done just so they could get married. I knew there would be some surprises for me :)

Wayne, you hit the nail on the head! My mother lied about her birthdate and she lied about her name, if she indeed signed it as Lundeen, since it is actually Lundin. Two days before I was born, wow...

It should also include:

Next to the signature the bride and groom have each entered their date of birth:

 

CWL: 24 May 1909

Patricia Lundeen: May 17, 1938 (quite the age difference)

How did you arrive at Patricia being your mother.

Her name was Patricia May Lundin. My father was Charles William Garfield Lawrence. They were married sometime in the 1950's. I was born Bonnie Mae Lawrence, 8/12/1956.

Thank you for checking on this for me. I don't know why I cannot find anything on them getting married. We lived in Deer Island Oregon when I was little. They had 3 girls, me, my sister Mary, and my sister Cheryl. My father died on November 1, 1963. I was 7 years old. My mother moved and remarried. She married a Ray King out of Washington I believe it was. They divorced when I was like 10 years old, and eventually married a John Marshall from Portland OR. We moved to Minnesota  in1967. They moved to Tulsa OK in the late 70s where John Marshall died. She moved back to OR and married Lester Moe. They divorced and she again remarried. Her last husband was Mike Purchase from Oregon.

It is not making any sense to me either. I should be able to find something on their wedding unless they weren't married, but I find that unlikely. Of course there may be some surprises...
