I’m looking for information on my great grandmother Elizabeth Davies. She was born around 1890. Specifically looking for her mothers name.

She was married to a William Frederick Archer Bale and a George Bushell. And supposedly, a Peck. Her Father’s name was supposedly William.

I can’t find any information about her and she passed when my dad and his siblings we children (around 1956).

According to the family Elizabeth / family were Russian, and her sister was killed in Russia. And apparently she owned a shop in East London.

I have added some surname tags to your question.
There is a 1921 census for a Elizabeth Bushell born 1890 Sunderland, Durham other members Elizabeth May and George Canning. This was taken Westham.

According to the 1921 census (available on FindmyPast) Elizabeth Bushell is living, with her two Bushell children, in Leyton in Essex and she gives her place of birth as "Sunderland, Durham, England".

In 1939 Elizabeth Bale is living at 146 Chelmsford Road Walthamstow with her second husband William Frederick Archer Bale also in the household are her 2 Bushell children and their 3 Bale children.

It looks as though William FA Bale marries in Q3 1952 but I have not been able to find a death for Elizabeth before that date - maybe a copy of this marriage certificate will show whether William FA Bale is a widower or maybe divorced.

Brilliant thank you. I’m trying to find Elizabeth’s mothers name, is that listed anywhere?

I've added links to the two marriages, as well as to the 1939 Register.

Both marriage records give her father as WIlliam Davies, engineer.

I've been taking a further ook through the 1891/1901/1911census records, and nothing is standing out. That said, Elizabeth and William Davies are rather common names. There is no Elizabeth Davies b. 1888-1892 in Sunderland in the bdm indexes.

What more details do you have about the Russian story? Any potential names of siblings, dates, was her mother supposed to have been Russian, or were they an Enlgish family there for William's engineering work?

I see you've taken a DNA test. Have you looked at the Leeds method? This will help you cluster your DNA matches and hopefully isolate those related to you onthe Davies line which could give you further clues as to Elizabeth's parents
Apologies for the delay, I’ve been trying to do some more digging. But I still haven’t had much luck. Supposedly, it was her sister that was in Russia and died their in the early 1900s.

And apparently her first husband (Bushell) became wealthy in the gold rush and opened bike shops around London.

I can’t find any records relating to any of this, it’s so frustrating
