All the profiles in the Holocaust project have birth/marriage/imprisonment/death places that were in Germany or one of the areas under its control during World War II. Because of different sources for all the information in these profiles, place names (both in the data and biography sections) are often stated differently. Know or be able to determine the correct names of places in Germany and nearby countries as they were in the native language(s) in the times between 1800 and 1950.
