Seeking help with suggestion: Error 897 - Error in template parameters

Hello,

Seeking assistance clearing a suggestion to correct Error 897 - Error 897 - Error in template parameters. Inline reference #4 on profile [[Gilderson-20|John Sankey Gilderson]]. The reference was created using the Wikitree Sourcer app, which generated an Ancestry.com Sharing link to a document image and an Ancestry.com link to the record for the document. The links function as expected.

The "Info" column for the suggestion reads as follows:

too short: Numbered parameter: 1 ()
{{Ancestry Sharing|6062235|22e333}}

I am unclear as to how to correct the parameter -- or whether to at all since it works.

I would appreciate advice as to how to correct or clear this suggestion.

Thanks!

Add ales as a tag to this question to make sure he sees it.
I'm sorry, but this was my first post to G2G. I do not understand your message.
I sent a link to this g2g to Ales, but if you Edit your question, there are some tags.  In there you can add Ales as a tag so he will see the question since he creates the Suggestions

This looks like a bug in the suggestions code that checks the template. It seems to be assuming that the first parameter should always be at least 8 characters and in this case it is 7.

If you really want to fix the suggestion you can fix it by adding a leading zero to make it this:

{{Ancestry Sharing|06062235|22e333}}

BTW there is a feature to check that in Sourcer. If you select the whole line above and right-click there is a Sourcer item on the context menu that will open the link for you.

Thank you, Rob! Your Wikitree Sourcer is a wonderfully useful tool. I followed your advice and added the leading zero. I will mark the suggestion corrected. Also glad to know about the right-click context menu choice to test a link.

Cheers!

I'm curious whether the sharing link that you get from Ancestry has the leading zero in it. Could you go to the image page for this record on Ancestry and press the share icon on the right and let me know what the link that comes up looks like. It is always possible that the method that Sourcer uses to generate the link/template is stripping off the leading zero.
Here is the link as generated by Ancestry.com

https://www.ancestry.com/sharing/6062235?h=22e333

...no leading zero. Looks like it's on them and not on Wikitree Sourcer. :-)
OK thanks. It looks like it is a bug in the WikiTree template checking code then.
According to the stats, there are only 40 profiles out of 320000 using 7 digits in the first part. So I assumed those are not correct.

I can extend the check to allow also 7 digits, since it seems to be a valid link.
