Pearl Harbor and a Swedish ancestor

Hi! I'd love to get some assistance. My Swedish grandfather's uncle worked somewhere on Hawaii during the attack of Pearl Harbor and there are so many amazing stories that I like to fact check.  He was in the military, mining gold... Etc. Everything I found so far is on the wikitree page. Thanks for any help! Christian Olsson

Maybe I can help, perhaps can access some records at University of Hawaii. I live on Hawaii Island.

You mentioned military - do you think it was U.S. military? and any idea of what branch?

Do you know which island he was on?

Maybe some of the 'amazing stories' have some hints we can use.

I just found the facts to prove a family story of mine.  It is rewarding.
Ummmm. What or where is a Sverige?

Ah that's your tree.

Sorry about that.
Thanks for the replys everyone. You are right Betty! Let me try to write down a few of these stories. Might not be so amazing but still special to the family anywats. He was working on Hawaii with something that had to do with oil - and I'm pretty sure it had to do with oil reserves. Olof talked many times on how he could see the Japanese planes flying in and something about how they went looking for hiding Japanese solders on the island. Unfortunately that's all I know about his Hawaii stories. I will ask my dad about more stories. But I'm afraid that's all I he got about his time in Hawaii. Thanks again.

Betty, Sverige is the country we English speakers call Sweden. There's a nice discussion at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Name_of_Sweden

I live in Hawaii and work at the U. of Hawaii. I sent you a msg on ancestry.

It has never been easy to find out ancestry of any place.Collection includes the most comprehensive set of WWII Navy Muster Rolls ever released online and exclusive Pearl Harbor veteran records.Still there are some shipping companies which keep certain track of the ancestral history.
