We hope we've finally isolated our ancestor to South Carolina (maybe not), but we're reasonably sure he was a private in the American Revolution. Here's what we found:
Richard Harvey fought in the Revolutionary war in South Carolina in the 3rd[1] and 5th regiments.[2]He was a private. There was a Captain Harvey, however, at this time there is no known relation between Richard and Thomas.[3]
Further research is needed to see if this source belongs to the Richard on this profile. (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSFF-LR6W)?
