I am interested in the path of my ancestors that resulted in me, 1stRatliffs in the Americas

Question

Are my ancestors, on the Ratliff(Radcliffe, Radcliff, Ratcliff) the Ratliffs of Jamestown, Maryland, Massachusettts? Also, Biggs(Manning)? Duncan, McMurtry, Lenard(Leonard), Vernon, Johnson lineage. Most ended up in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas.

The best way to answer that question is to start with yourself and work backwards, one generation at a time. If the connection is there, it will make itself apparent in due course -- I wouldn't recommend starting with the pioneer families and working down, you'll just end up wasting time in the wrong places.

We don't have your family tree info to reference to better help -- Who is your earliest Ratliff ancestor that you are confident in? (e.g. a great-grandfather or whatever)
