WikiTree is more concerned with genetic relationships, especially on ancestor profiles. So the preference is to add the biological father as a the relation, and any other parents (such as adoptive father) in the biography.

However, the profile still seems to be a giant hypothesis with no real sources to back up the information at this time. I would suggest finding the sources to prove your theory first, and then working from there.

We are french from Quebec. But my maternal grand-mother was a Hoover and a Shaw from Pennsylvania
I just received my mother's DNA from Ancestry

She is has 33% DNA  from the Scottish area and 2% from German area

Frankly at first sight, this even would look fishy for the Hoover

But my understanding, is that there might be a lot of the Palatinate in the Scottish area

If you looked at her death certificate, you'll see that she told her children that  her father was Archibald Leonard and believed it enough to change her name from Bumgardner to Leonard

Now I can't use DNA of my family to certify since we are all descendant of Archibald Shaw

Any idea on how to triangulate that ?
