Help us find and improve next week's Connection Finder profiles: Matthew Perry and Friends

Matthew PerryThe recent death of Matthew Perry has left many thinking of the years he was in their home as "Chandler Bing" on the sitcom Friends, so we're featuring him in the Connection Finder, alongside his co-stars and show cameos on the show.

Here's  who we're getting started on:

Who else should we feature? We have room for 12 notables. We can't feature everyone who is nominated, but if we don't feature a profile you work on, we may use it sometime in the future. And, of course, all contributions help improve our shared tree.

Our choice of features will depend partly on the notable person's CC7, i.e. their connection count within seven degrees. The more connections they have, the more likely it is for all WikiTree members to find a close and interesting connection to them. So, if you nominate someone, please help grow their CC7.

We'll make a final decision on which ones to feature early next week.

Please reply here with what you're working on so that we don't duplicate our efforts. Thank you!

Take note that this is not the place to discuss why you think we shouldn't feature someone if those reasons are due to politics, actions, or opinions of those being suggested. Mentioning things like their not being connected, their biography still needing work, erroneous information, etc. are all suitable for discussion here and an opportunity to correct those situations.

Help us plan Connection Finder themes for 2023 here.

Perhaps consider the true Die Hard Bruce Willis, who supposedly appeared on the show after losing a bet to his "The Whole Nine Yards" co-star Matthew Perry

He ended up with an on screen relationship with Rachel as well as an Emmy Award for his role: A double win!

Isabella Rossellini guest-starred as herself in an episode of season 3 of Friends: see Backstage. The profile has a simple biography and is connected with CC7 304, but needs an image.

There is a nice image on Wikimedia Commons with a CC-BY-SA licence that could be used, if someone from the Notables Project would like to add it.

Thanks, Jim.

Marlo Thomas appeared in Friends as Sandra Green. Her profile will show as connected tomorrow. Three merges are pending which may increase her CC7.  I will also work to improve her bio.

I think some of his funniest scenes were with Matt LeBlanc and Courteney Cox. / CC7=316

Two potential connections in her tree that maybe someone else can figure out

1) see research notes here of potential father, but potential father profile confusing - is it saying it shouldn’t show as death location Indiana or are two individuals getting confused

2) see research notes here

Thanks, Judi.

I think you should focus on all 6 regular cast members, so that means including Courtney Cox and David Schwimmer. Also guest stars Paul Rudd and Brooke Shields..

Courtney Cox was on the TV show "Who Do You Think You Are". She has the same royal ancestry as I, going back to Roger Mortimer, the De Spensers, back to William the Conquerer.

And James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther (I always consider him the 7th Friend). He died in 2021.

Thanks, everyone!

How about Chandler's on again off again girlfriend Janice Hosenstein, played by Maggie Wheeler?  Another one who was a regular on Friends was Monica and Ross' father, played by Elliot Gould.  We can't forget about Chandler's father, played by Kathleen Turner.

Sometime ago I saw a page on Family Tree DNA that connected Mathew Perry, Abe Lincoln and others to a man named Albert Perry, born into slavery in N.C. about 1820.  His great grandson took a DNA test which led to the discovery of the most divergent Y-DNA lineage known today, haplogroup A00, traced to Cameroon.

I'd love to work on Jennifer Aniston's great-grandmother, Ellen Sarah (Maclean) Dow - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Maclean-4341. I've done some work in Aroostook County, ME recently and want to see if there's a connection between the families.
