Isn't it just the greatest feeling when you find out some piece of information that no one alive on planet earth knows?  It could be an exact date of birth/death/marriage, an unknown child of an extinct line on your tree, or even better, a story found in an old newspaper with a snippet of someone's life, beyond simple names and dates.  It's almost like finding a piece of gold buried on the ocean floor - well not QUITE the same!

Yessirree! On WIkitree in the past month I have had two of those Yabbadabbadooo! moments. The first when I stumbled upon an incredible newspaper article written about my great-grandfather, George Addison Cook. The second when a "near'n dear" Wikitreer found a sibling for George's father, Pascal. And of course her name was "Margaret Cook" even though none of us knew she existed. Replacing (not quite but you get the drift) my deceased sister "Margaret Clara Cook."

Life on the Tree, ain't it grand!

Yes!  I started my morning discovering a journal entry about my great great grandfather being injured in a cattle stampede in 1851.  Reportedly he was able to get back to driving his team in a couple of days.  What a gem!
