Does DNA confirmation of a parents of a person make you confident that that person is the parents ?

If you have DNA confirmation of  the parents of a person  does that make the relationship confident.? Will that change the confidence level of the parents even if you do not not have a primary  source  to support the relationship?   Some  secondary sources  give the birth location in same local and time frame of the parents in a small community ?

Are the DNA samples from the actual 19th century people involved, or from people who believe they are descended from them?

In addition to the DNA matching you also need to "know your relationship to your match through traditional genealogy or family history." (See Help:DNA_Confirmation)

With regards to that, sometimes several circumstantial sources and evidence can add up to a high confidence without one definitive primary source.

As Joe pointed out,the person should essentially need to be at the "confident" level before being marked "confirmed with DNA".

Also, DNA confirmation only applies to the relationships between the DNA testers. One child confirming their parent does not confirm their siblings who are not also on the relationship trail. (The Relationship Finder will display the relations involved between the testers if both are on WikiTree.)
