My mother was born in Aberdeen, Brown, SD on 15 Jan 1915.  Her father was born in Columbia, Brown, SD on 5 Sep 1889.  My grandfather was Chief of Police in Aberdeen.  My great grandfather was Sheriff of Brown County.  My grandfather had several siblings, many of them are buried in Riverside Park Cemetery in Aberdeen.  I was born and live in Oregon, but South Dakota has always been special to me.

Hello! My dad is from Artisan and his family ran a beef cattle and dairy farms for generations. He is one of 6 siblings and some still live there.

My maternal ancestors from Denmark (George, Peter, and Theodore Christian) had BLM Land Patents in Brookings, Dakota Territory (South Dakota), and the Swiss German ancestors (Stussi/Stussy) settled in Beresford.  Theo Christian married Margaret Stussy and that resulted in my great grandmother Ida being born in Brookings.

My dad’s side (Cornelius McNary) retired on Minnesota Street in Mitchell, SD. He died two weeks before he turned 100.
