Additional Badges for G2G2 Contributors

Hi, I was looking at the G2G forum and badges awarded and found there is only one badge awarded currently G2G6 for those who earned over 6,000 points in the genealogist-to-genealogist (G2G) question and answer forum.

I also noticed a small amount of people who go beyond 6,000 points to the top contributor of 959,730 points as of today, thats a lot of points.

I would like to suggest there be additional badges for those who participate in the G2G2 forum.

Could there be a badge like the G2G6 maybe that says G2G10 and some after that like G2G20 etc to maybe motivate more to go beyond 6,000 points. They could be different colors like the Generous Genealogist badges which are red, blue and green.

Just a thought since we encourage members to come over to g2g forum to ask and answer questions.

Thanks, Dorothy, g2g forum member

Thanks Dorothy, for the "best answer'. I hope your idea is embraced by the powers that be, its a good one.

My other comments about G2G badges recently got me thinking:  the g2g 6 Badge is an airplane, how about a jet for those getting Mach 5 and above and then the g2g Pilot and above get a rocket or something similar and Doug get a space ship orbiting around the WikiTee earth!!!!! What you you think WikiTree Tech's.....

Hi Dorothy, I noticed everyone above 6000 is a G2G6 right up to the top contributor so I think it would be Mach 1, Mach 2 badges, ...etc. up to Pilot at 100,000. I think it's a great idea. I didn't realize how few go beyond 6,000 till you mentioned it. Really G2G is where you learn the most, and it allows you to collaborate not just on profiles but in learning and teaching the basic skills necessary...which seems to be a struggle for some rookies.

Hi Brett, yes!!  I like your idea of giving the badges names like you said: Mach 1, Mach 2 etc. and then different colored badges.

Thanks for suggesting that as well. Maybe leadership will give it a thought????

Hi Dorothy,

I added this for consideration here: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/To-Do#G2G
Thanks Eowyn!!  I think it would be a great motivator for those who work hard at answering g2g questions and have gone way beyond the 6,000 mark.

Any more thought on adding badges for g2g levels beyond 6,000 as mentioned in question above??

Recently a request was made for more colors concerning "Generous Genealogists" which I agree as well; so thought I would ask again if badges for "generous g2g contributors" be considered as well.

Thanks!!!!
