Oh, I have a new, new mystery to work on.

One of my DNA matches (we can't figure out how), sent me a note yesterday asking me about my connection to the Lang's. Seems I match more Langs than just her, but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

Can one of you very WikiTree savy peeps find a Lang in amongst the limbs that connects to me?

"John and Margaret Lang from Henry Co., GA. They came down from Orange Co., NC to the Wrightsborough Settlement (Wilkes Co GA) around 1768. They were disgruntled with their Quaker ways in Orange Co and so they moved to GA. I have not yet determined if John was a Quaker. I think my John Lang lived on the Little River in Wilkes Co." - from my match.

She found that FamilyTree DNA posted Lang as one of my Surnames.

Thanks very much for your help.

I have done DNA test with ancestry.com, 23andMe and FTDNA.  My 3rd great-grandmother was Barsheba Lang who was married to Washington Phelps and Greenberry Jackson.  Her father was John Lang and Margaret ? of Henry Co., Georgia.

Hey Patricia,

Who did you test with? Do you have your data posted to GEDmatch? If so, I can look to see if we connect via DNA.

Hey John,

Send me a PM so I can have your email to add to some profiles I am adding. Opp. Looks like great minds think alike.

I may have found the connection through her sister Louisa to an Eliza Allen...http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lang-2586

My Allen is Charles Allen

Now all I have to do is try and take the Allen's back for another one or two Generations and I might have a line to follow forward to help.

Thanks John!

I added a good source for what I found, before Eliza Allen Distracted me. :-)

Oh and John? thanks for taking me away from what I should have been doing this afternoon - I am reading the above mentioned book. It's really well written - not quite as dry as some Genealogies of the time.
