Hello,

I read the previous postings on "PPP" and still do not understand what PPP is for and what we use if for.  Could someone explain the purpose to me and when we should ask for it to me?

Thank you

PPP is a Project Protected Profile. It is used on profiles that are part of a project, where you want to protect the spelling of Last Name at Birth (LNAB) in the event of a merge.

Also, PPP status will now protect the links to the person's parents (or prevent parents from being added, in the event of a person whose parents have been determined to be unknown).
Shouldn't every profile with PPP being added have a project attached to it? If not, then perhaps we should just change it to Protected Profile.

I see many examples of people asking for profiles to be PPP'd without any reason given. Surely, there should always be a reason given. Is the request being made just for a temporary PPP status while something is taken care of, or permanent PPP status is being requested?
