Since he tested on FTDNA he has the option to post his results directly from FTDNA to ysearch.org with the click of a button. If he does that than using his ysearch ID people can access all is 111 STR markers.
Aside from that he should have joined his haplogroup project and asked the administrator to predict his terminal haplogroup. If not he should do so. I would at least post his terminal haplogroup and FTDNA # as well.
I would post your mtDNA haplogroup and FTDNA name. I would also publish your full sequence (if it was a full sequence) with the NIH and then post your accession number. Then anyone can look up your full sequence. ISOGG has instructions for this.
The DNA requests will propagate all the way up the proper portions of your tree all the way back to your most distant ancestors. This takes about 24 hours to occur. But after that more distant cousins will see your results if you share a common ancestor.
Best to ask these types of questions on G2G.

Roland, Thanks for your answer on G2G. I have ALL of my 3rd cousin's information, including all the SNPs etc, but I don't know what I should put up at wikitree. I will ask him if he has a ysearch no, however. I just got my mtDNA done and wasn't sure how to answer one of the wiki questions when I said I had taken the test. What do we add other than we've taken the test? And how do people know there is a DNA available if they just see the page for his grandfather? Thanks. Marnie
