Is anyone interested in this project to identify those who have Ham Radio licenses?

I found the category [[Category: Ham Radio Operators]] and after working with it I feel that it could be set up better. With the potential for hundreds of thousands of profiles that could be eventually added I think the time is now to either do it right or abandon all efforts. I have set the Free Space page to the Green privacy setting only to avoid having too many people change things, but be assured if you send me a private message I will add you to the trusted list within a short time. I do not know much about the use of categories or the management of projects but that is where others can help most. I will be adding more to he page over the weekend and hope to hear from some of you with your thoughts. The only way this project will move forward is with your help.

Ok Dale, I acknowledge your QSL.  Sign me up and I will do what I can to help.  - KD6DYB
My uncle was W1AOI; both parent were hams.  Let me know if this becomes a category.
Hi Janine, the category you can add now is [[Category: Ham Radio Operators]].  We are discussing if we need subcategories if this gets bigger and if so, how to organize them.

HI Dale,

Like I wrote in the previous post both my dad and my brother are ham radio operators so I could help you with info when it comes to Swedish operators.

Lena, I would welcome the help. Send my a private message and I will add you to the trusted list for the project. I only ask for that because I do need your email address to add you to the trusted list.

Should we organize the way they assign Call Signs?

http://www.w5yi.org/page.php?id=149

One thought is that if we can get the Call Signs on profiles then someone can track the history of the Call Sign.  That my be very good genealogial information.

Date, you thoughts on listing the Call Sign

Call sign: KC8LAO

First issued : 1998

Location: Lake County, Ohio, United States of America

Class: Technician

Upgraded: 2010

Class: General

Location: Geauga County Ohio, United States of America

This looks like it could be modified into a template or badge that could be put on a profile.

I have to think more on how to deal with Class changes to the Call Sign.

Great start!

Here is a group of Guys we could put here.

I added a member of the Space Shuttle to WikiTree and I will go back and find his Call Sign.

Ok, this is getting fun, we better get organized.

Michael, i added you to the trusted list of the project.  I think that for now breaking them up the way you sent me would work for now but I don't know enough to even try any sub categories and I think that the categorization project should weigh in before we add any sub categories.  I have been slowly adding some famous Amateurs to the project and the tree but I am in the middle of planning a short trip at the end of this month. But I plan on starting work in earnest after April 1.
