Davis marriage record

Question

Need marriage record for Joseph H. Davis (1807-1874) from 1850s to Mathilda.  In 1850 he lived with first wife Patience in Cincinnati; in 1860 with 2d wife Mathilda in St Louis.  Cannot find record.

Thank you Theresa; Joseph was born in Frederick Co VA, died in St Louis.  Unproved parents Elizabeth Hedges and David T. Davis.  First wife Patience Elson, married Lewis Co KY.  Joseph was a riverboat pilot, working the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.
