Though I have Schnekenburger/Schneggenburger's in my tree, I don't believe Max is related unless very remotely.  Nevertheless, due to his fame, he's been in the family lore for a long time (where he is frequently claimed as a cousin).   He authored a poem which was later set to music and became significant to a newly united Germany around the Franco Prussian war and which many of us will have experienced in films covering that period through WWII.   He was born in/near Talheim, son of Tobias Schnekenburger and Regina Margarethe Haug.

He's got a wikipedia entry and is a notable  (I need help on categorizing him properly there).   One of his elder brothers, Mathias is also notable (and likewise needs help on categories) - as a Theologian.  Both wound up in Switzerland.  Max's remains were returned to Talheim many years after he died, as his fame increased.

If anyone is willing to help flesh out his tree, that would be appreciated.  I've only entered two of his brothers.  I've found clues for his father and his mother's lines-- grandfathers Jakob Schnek or Schnekenburger and Mathias Haug,

LNAB is Schnekenburger for this record, tho wikipedia and other references generally spell his surname Schneckenburger.

I'll help, if I can.  These might be good categories:Category: German Poets and Category: Talheim, Baden-Württemberg (this one isn't set up yet).
