I intend to import a .GED file, after thoroughly checking the .GEDCOM file.  Is there a way to save the .GEDCOM file, so as to systematically check every imported profile ?

Mark,

You are right about needing to keep track of the profiles.  I chose to add codes to my personal genealogy on my PC showing both the Wikitree ID and a status when I had completed the edit.  A second step is that you can sort your watch list in edit date order - after you have completed edits on those that you have imported you can check the edit date to be sure you have not missed any - this last step will  not cover all of your work but may high light ones that you might have missed.
