Family decended from Germany  Va  Lewis , then Roane County, WV mi 1600`s on Shavers -Shafers - Shaffer`s possibly past Jacob Schaeffers , Schabers or Schafers. there is a missing document or link between Jacob Shaver & his actual father on any site including mine , i took DNA tests that has`nt solved this yet . thankyou Stan Shaffer d

I have Shaffer in my family tree. Going from Germany to Pennsylvania, to Virginia, to Tennessee and elsewhere. But this could be a different lineage than yours.

Did you ever discover the link between Jacob Shaver and his father? My husband is a Shafer. Jacob Shaver and Ann (Hall) Black were his 4th Great-Grandparents. DNA supports that Peter Shaver and Sarah Susan Riffle Shaver were Jacob's parents. I am very interested in what you found out concerning missing document or link between Jacob and his actual father.
