why does it cost so much to be tested? if my dads father is George and Ben and George are brothers from Isaac and Rebecca is Ben my dads uncle?

It costs $93 (that amount includes postage) for you to order Family Family which tests 696,800 auDNA SNPs.  About 12 years ago it cost around $40 to test one auDNA SNP.  I wonder how is it possible that it costs so little now to be tested?

You said that Ben and George are brothers.  So Ben is your dad's brother, not his uncle...

I agree with Peter that the cost of DNA testing is very inexpensive.  I realize that many people have limited income, but the test truly is reasonably priced.  DNA testing is a way to prove ancestry when no paper trail can be found.  This is very helpful with all of the records that 'Firebug Sherman' burned in his travels through the South, as well as the women whose maiden names we don't know that are our grandmothers (going back many generations).
