Can someone from New Netherland Settlers project advise

This profile shows up in my errors list because Elisabeth is born after Abraham's death. My husband is a relative to this person.

One of the sources states Jacob is the father which of course seems more likely than a dead fellow. I don't want to step on anyone's toes as I am not in the NA Settlers project nor do I have any first hand sources, so I thought I'd ask for some opinions before switching parents. There is a discussion already regarding the husband.

Se my comment on the profile for more details.

Thanks

Well the error is false because Abraham died "after 1662", 20 Aug 1662 being his last verifiable appearance in records. These types of errors are problematic for older profiles. See Henry Fowke and his error report http://wikitree.sdms.si/function/WTWeb/errors.htm?UserID=1479688 for an example.

The argument that Tom Quick linked to at http://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/stout/3991/ is pretty sound, that the spouse of James Stout should be "Elizabeth Unknown".

There are other issues with Abraham; his wife is supposedly unknown, according to an article in the NYGBR.

So the right thing to do is to move forwards the dead-by-date?
In this case, we wouldn't change his dead by date because everything after that date is speculative in Abraham's case. It's the only certain date we have for him. The problem is with the error, and in this case I would mark it false.

I also didn't find an Elizabeth being baptized in Gravesend in 1675, so her birth date is in question, whether she is a du Trieux or not.
Unfortunately, there is no "false error" option for db_error 210, "father dead before birth," and similar errors.

This issue with db_errors has been hashed out in some recent G2G discussions. The db_errors settings haven't been changed because certain people strongly believe that "There is no reason for dates to overlap."  See: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/336802/there-db_errors-take-date-qualifiers-under-consideration

Interesting, color me surprized. In that case, the children attached to Elizabeth should be moved over to the rejected match Elizabeth, the one that is married to James Stout, and then use this existing profile to sort out whether or not Abraham had a daughter Elizabeth at all.

Elizabeth, the daughter of Jacob du Trieux, is accounted for and married Daniel Howland on 05 November 1718, according to Barbara Carver Smith, The Truax/Truex Family of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, New Jersey, 1675-1990: Descendants of Philippe Du Trieux (Lakewood, N.J.: B.C. Smith, ca. 1991)
