2nd Great Grandparents - Leonard L Wilkinson & Marcia Maria Thomas - unknown/unfound origins : pre-1848

I have purported names/locations in Connecticut for these two but it came from a self published family tree pamphlet assembled by my Great Aunt Bess Asbell/Dunstan in 1966 in Stockton, California.  The information from this source for these two is very sketchy at best and not documented at all.

My documentation for them begins with their marriage in 1848 as announced in several Connecticut newspapers .  I have been unable to find ANY documented origin/location facts for either of them before 1848.

For both profiles I have found quite a bit of information following  their marriage in 1848 and subsequent divorce in 1850.  They both remarried, had children and lived pretty interesting lives.   I have good documentation for both lines down to recent years.   I will be updating  their profiles in WikiTree with facts (from my FTM tree) in days to come with documented sources - so help on their lives after marriage in 1848 is not my objective nor need at this point - however, prior to 1848 is a completely blank slate for me.

It appears WikiTree G2G is my best possible avenue for further in depth research pre-1848.  All help will be greatly appreciated.

Leonard L Wilkinson   Wilkinson-2864     ;  Marcia Maria Thomas   Thomas-11376

Wayne,

Yes, I have a copy of Leonard's Civil War Records from the National Archives.

Ralph Munson was guardian of one of twin boys born to Leonard and 2nd wife Mary Ann Peck just prior to Leonard's death in 1867 from consumption.

Thanks for the look.

Is Ella in 1870 Census,Elnora,Gertrude Wilkinson.???
by Wayne Morgan G2G Astronaut (1.1m points)
Wayne,

Yes,  Elnora Gertrude was the 3rd child (of five) and only daughter of the union of  Leonard Wilkinson and Mary Ann Peck.

Elnora went on to later marry John Lewis Porter about 1875 in CT and had at least five children.
