Why am I being removed from freespace profiles I created for a project I created? [closed]

I created freespace profiles for a project I created. Why am I being removed as the manager and from trusted list? I've received no communication. Please add me back. It's not right to just remove the manager for no reason.

The manager listed now was not a manager now on the trusted list. Which I have no problem with that. But, I was removed as the manager and from the trusted list.

Why was my page merged into a newly created profile without any communication on a profile I created? Policies were put in place for a reason. Merges need approval from the profile manager first. Policy wasn't followed. I was removed so the merge could complete. Why are policies put in place if a sysop doesn't have to follow them?

I've also been removed from https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/WikiTree-7.  I created the account in 2013 for the project & I transferred a lot of my Czech family to that account. Another researcher from the Czech Republic transferred his profiles to me which are under this account management.  I'm not even on the trusted list anymore so any communication about those profiles will no longer come to me.
Michelle --

I'm sorry that I removed you from the free space profile that you created (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Available_Records). As I mentioned, it appeared that this was intended to be a project page. You no longer lead that project, and I was transferring that responsibility to Helmut.

Incidentally, as I mentioned before, I created the other free-space pages when I moved the project pages from sub-pages to free-space pages. You were not "removed" from these pages. Helmut is the Project Coordinator, so I added him as the manager.

I did not remove you from the project account (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/WikiTree-7) that Abby created back in 2015. This is used to manage the project. Leaders and Project Coordinators are the only ones who are profile managers for project accounts. Project Members can join in the Google Group in order to stay up to date on activity for this account. See: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Project_Accounts

If you're interested in participating in this project again, you should contact Helmut, and he can arrange for you to receive the project badge and add you to any pages where project members need to have Trusted List access.

We are reorganizing that project, and I saw that you are no longer part of the project. The current Project Coordinator needed to be able to edit these pages which were set with a Public privacy setting. I just finished this up last night and had to run out and didn't get a chance to send you a message yet.

If you want to join this project again, please let the Project Coordinator know.

Thanks!

I never removed myself from the project. I've been a member since I created the project. Regardless, I'm not an inactive member and never received any communication prior to removal. According to policy a member sends a request & manager adds them. If no response a unresponsive manager request is submitted. None of this was done.

Was I also removed from the Czech Roots Project profile as well?

This goes against policy. Members aren't removed as manager and from trusted list of profiles they manage in order for another member to make edits.

Project Coordinator knows I'd add him.

On another note, why remove a members work without communication? The chart I created for regions, districts, towns and links to the records is gone. I would like to get it back.

Michelle --

You don't have the badge, and you're not on the member list. That's what I had to go on.

Most of the pages that you're talking about were created as project sub-pages. I created free-space pages for them and moved the information there. We don't use project sub-pages for projects. The old pages are redirected to the free-space pages

There is still a lot of work to be done to simplify the information on these pages. They contain a lot of HTML/CSS, which is not recommended, and much of the information is duplicated from one page to the other.

I gave the table back to you. It can't stay on a project page, so it's in a free space page here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Czech_Roots/Regions%2C_Districts%2C_Towns

By the way, the structure you created in the table is mirrored in the regional categories for the project, and the links to the source repositories you had in the table were broken.

You should work with Helmut to determine whether it's appropriate to include that page as part of the project pages.

Feel free to email me if you have any other questions.

>You don't have the badge, and you're not on the member list. That's what I had to go on.

Not sure why. Just because there's no badge doesn't mean someone can be removed from free space profiles they manage.

>By the way, the structure you created in the table is mirrored in the regional categories for the project, and the links to the source repositories you had in the table were broken.
Family search changed their url's &  ebadatelna.soapraha.cz may have moved their archive. The rest appear to work. Not all members can easily find the right archive. The table was made per members recommendation to simplify the process. I wanted to mirror the regional categories to give users a two options to choice from. Older users have more trouble navigating through so many categories to find the right info. The chart minimized this frustration. Yes, I used html5 & posted a message to contact me if changes needed to be made.

>You should work with Helmut to determine whether it's appropriate to include that page as part of the project pages. Ok, we discussed this when I created the page and agreed it was a good idea to help people find the right archive.

>Most of the pages that you're talking about were created as project sub-pages. I created free-space pages for them and moved the information there. We don't use project sub-pages for projects. The old pages are redirected to the free-space pages

I created these pages per the project guidelines at the time & guidance of a team member.  Why wouldn't you add me as the manger or at least the trusted list after transferring to a free-space page?

None of this explains why I was removed as manager (& removed from trusted list) of free-space profiles I created back in 2013.

Michelle --

These were intended to be project pages. You are no longer managing this project. It seemed safe to pass them to the person who is managing the project.

Closing the question doesn't resolve the issue.

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:NetworkFeed&space=8917973 free-space profile I created in 2013 never was a project page. How can you just remove me as the manager and from the trusted list without a request? Is that the new process now?

The importance of communicating before any important change is constantly emphasized to WikiTree members.

This thread and the lack of participation from others in the community has me baffled.

Me, too, Eva.  I don't understand why this couldn't be discussed with Michelle first. It certainly doesn't seem like it was an emergency.  And why couldn't Helmut have put in a request to be on the trusted list?  Julie said Helmut needed to be able to edit those pages, and that's what the TL is for.
The wonderful thing about WikiTree is it's collaborative nature and the way we communicate with each other. It's very important that we model that consistently to new members who might not be used to a site like this, having come from a site where there have their "own tree."  I know I have become a better person in all areas of life by consistently striving to practice this courtesy on WikiTree. Equally, I am certain that a message would have met with cooperation. That's another thing we constantly practice and model for our members.
@Eva @Nan Thanks!

I'm not baffled. But, I've observed long enough to understand rules don't apply equally to everyone.

Helmut knows I would honor a manager or TL request. A sysop took action eliminating the need for a request.

Helmut does a great job here.
