Please add me to Swisher County, Texas. I have lots of resources to add. I am a longtime county coordinator for the USGenWeb Project and I'm about to revamp my website and I would like to use Wikitree for organizing family, town, and cemetery data.

Yes, another Native here! I was born in South Texas in the famed Spinach Capitol of the World at the time, Crystal City.

One of my ancestors played a key role in the The Battle of San Jacinto. He devised a plan, that he and six others executed, that history tells us was instrumental in both the victory that day and the subsequent capture of General Santa Anna! You can learn more about John Jack Coker at the space page I made for the historical cemetery that bears his name https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Coker_Cemetery

This small cemetery was once part of the the thriving Coker Community which was at or near present day San Antonio Airport on the 2000 acre grand he received for his heroism. The cemetery has three separate Texas Historical Markers at the site. One is at the grave of Jefferson Davis Smith. He and his brother were kidnapped by Indians as children. He was reportedly purchased by Chief Geronimo and then he was rescued by mercenary bandits 10 years later who then exhorted a $1000 cash reward from the family! Just fascinating stuff!
