Does anyone have info on a Robert Rufus Martin b. 1887, Clarke cty, Miss.

Question

My great grandfather and his brother came to Mississippi from one of the Carolinas - North Carolina I believe.  My great grandfather stayed in Mississippi and settled in the Clarke County - Lauderdale County area, but the brother went on to Alabama and settled somewhere around Mobile.  For years, my grandfather corresponded with one of his cousins there, but I don't have any names.

 

My grandfather's name:  Robert Rufus Martin

Born:  March 25, 1887 in Clarke County, MS

Died:  1971, Laurel, Jones County, MS

I have learned that my great grandfather's name was Robert Bruce Martin.  He was married to Emily Robinson Martin.  Emily is buried in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel, MS but there is no information on Robert Bruce.  Does anyone have any information on him.  He obviously disappeared from the family in the late 1800s and no one knows what happened to him.  Appreciate any information.
