Ontario Cemetery Project

Question

Hey everyone,

Further to my first post about working on Ontario Cemeteries, I'm starting a new, prettier (read > I'm learning new things!!) thread to keep everyone updated on the status of the Ontario Cemetery Project.

If anyone has any particular interest in Ontario cemeteries, please have a look around the project. I am looking for anyone with first-hand, local knowledge as I try to identify most/all of the cemeteries in our incredibly large province :) Sometimes this can be tricky with multiple-named cemeteries, similarly named, closely-located cemeteries, and, of course, the lost and abandoned.

As always I look forward to your input and am also able to help anyone looking for their Ontario family.

No, I haven't looked at that site. 

I use the lists found on OCFA, as well as Find A Grave. I was also using the County lists on Canadian Headstones, but they have changed their format and I have just figured out how to search by district. Murray Pletsch's site was great, but that was adopted by the GenWeb project which I was already using. Have also found some good lists on Interment.net. All sources are linked somewhere on each county page.

Good work! I miss the rootsweb site being up. There were a number of Ontario cemeteries where the stones had been photographed in their entirety (I think Oxford County had nearly all the cemeteries photographed), and so I could "virtually" surf through them looking for potential relations in areas where I knew ancestors had been.
