Does anybody have any information on a Patrick Smyth?

Question

Patrick Smyth was born in Pert, Pertshire Scotland 1497 and died in Scotland in 1539.  In 1528 he married Katherine Cochran 1504.  The had a daughter Christeen 1539-1584 who married John Craigie 1530-1587.  Patrick and Katherine are my 12th great grandparents on the Finley side.  My profile is under Penny Finley Schrotberger.

A son of John Groome Smyth - named after his grandfather - was Thomas Smyth who married a Miss Sheridan. Chris Gosnell notes that this was "possibly Elizabeth Sheridan, [sister to] Thomas Sheridan, the father of Richard Brinsley Sheridan. Elizabeth lived at Quilca, in County Cavan; her grandfather was named Patrick." Sons of the Smyth/Sheridan marriage were Patrick Smyth and Hugh Smyth - Sources given as, again, Groome family tree written by W.F. Montague Groome in 1922, with later annotations and Harlequin Sheridan by Raymond Compton Rhodes."

I am Jenny! a finley through my mother Maureen Finley. reading your response i am sure we descend from the very same people. i'm trying to find out to find more information about Kathren and Patrick as well as many other great grandparents, in this generation, b/c they are quite as well known as many of the other members. thank you, many blessings.
