Do any members have ancestral links to Purton, Wiltshire, England?

Question

Hi all, I'm researching my family tree and can trace the Plummer line in the UK back to Richard Dean Plummer (1688-1761) and Mary Moulden (1704-1742) who were married at St.Mary the Virgin church, 24June 1733, in Purton, Wiltshire.

Can any Plummer out there in Wikitree land trace their roots back to Wiltshire England in the hope that I can find the link between Plummer's UK and Plummer's America?

Hi Ron,

I perused the list of Plummer profiles on Wikitree and noted that there are several who are born in England and have profile managers other than yourself. It might be worth contact this proflie managers directly to see if you can make the link between Plummer's UK and Plummer's America.

Kylie Fitzgerald in particular has several UK Plummers and at least one from Purton, Wilshire, England.

Hi Eowyn. Thanks for the prompt reply. The avenue of investigation suggested has already been extensively researched and exhausted. I am still hopeful that an American Plummer will come forward with a link to their UK ancestors that will prove a connection to the Purton Plummers.

I just saw your question about an America connection to the Plummer's of Wiltshire, England.  I think I may be related to John H Plummer, who was born in 1782 in Wiltshire, or I may just have him confused with another John Plummer.  I know I'm related to the John H Plummer who was born in 1792 in TN.  It looks like John H Plummer of Wiltshire was the son of Thomas Plummer and was married to Elizabeth Young.  i'm going to have to do some more research on this one.  So far, I have not been able to prove any connection between my Plummer family who came to America in the early 1600s and any English Plummer relatives.
