Why Volckertszen? Because of "the supposed stated presence of a baptismal record name of the father? Pieter and siblings were NOT named Volckertszen. The father Cornelis was named that, on his children's records. Pieter and siblings wouold be Cornelsiz, or something similar. ... And besides, Viele means something, and it came from somewhere. So we cannot simply rashly get rid of it, without understanding why it has become applied as the surname in all of these matches, and sometimes spelled Veile, perhaps in error, but we do not know. ...
