MM as part of a location name

Categorization is one thing, but why is MM coming up in birth/death location fields when a region-specific to monthly meetings entered?

I took it out, because it doesn't seem appropriate, but maybe it's a new standard?

Hopewell, Frederick, Virginia

when entered, brings up two - and only these two -  "matches" for:

Hopewell MM, Frederick, Virginia

and

Hopewell MM, Frederick, Virginia, USA

Again, categorization seems the place for MM designation, not geographical location. No one is born or dies in monthly meetings, do they?

Thank you and yes, I agree. Monthly Meetings should not be part of the location fields.

Instead, the fact that a birth or death was recorded in a particular monthly meeting should be written out in the biography. And yes, adding the monthly meeting category to the profile would be helpful too.

This is a pet peeve of mine.  It was probably the result of a GEDCOM import. I find people putting that in so many of my family tree profiles. On FamilySearch, while adding birth and death places to profiles, options pop up with location suggestions. If one person typed that in once upon a time, it comes up as a suggestion. I find it all the time in profiles on that site and on Ancestry. I have a huge niumber of Quakers in my family tree, including the Hollingsworth family. I try to correct as I go, but with so much input from so many people, it is hard toi keep up. Thanks for taking care of Isaac's profile! He in the family of one of my ancestors.

This particular profile is odd due to the vitals area shows his birth at Hopewell, Frederick, Virginia, and the bio states he was born at  Cecil County, Maryland.  I view finding the birth in the records of a MM is a bit of a disclaimer due to many lived within the "compass" of a meeting.  As far as the question of does anyone get born or die at a MM, I believe several people likely passed while at a MM wishing to be as close as possible to the spirit that many found within themselves during a MM.

As others have pointed out, "monthly meeting" is where births, deaths and marriages are recorded, not where they took place.  Depending on the record, the actual place of birth, etc. may be recorded.  There should be a separate field for "place recorded," since that is where one would look for additional information about the person in question.
