I just discovered this site, and I'm interested in connecting the Gardner family name

Have you reviewed the many Gardner profiles that already exist here on Wikitree? Are you familiar with how to do that? If not someone can help you, if give can provide basic information on who you are looking for.

Were your Gardner ancestors Quaker? There were a lot of Gardners who were Quakers who migrated from Nantucket to North Carolina in the mid to late 1700s, then during the Civil War most left North Carolina and migrated north and west. Nowadays you will find descendants of the Nantucket group all over the United States. If you know, or later learn, your ancestors were part of this group you might want to join the Nantucket Project.

Great question Susan,  My Gardner ancestors are Quakers from Nantucket that migrated to NC in the mid 1700s.  I have the History of Nantucket and the Nantucket genealogy books  if anyone would like a lookup I am happy to do that.
