If you want to edit your question, I would suggest adding a tag for Ontario, and also linking either James' or Catherine's profiles.

I have added Census records to Catherine's profile, taking them back to the 1870 US Census. I can't find them in the 1860. I also can't find them in the 1851 Canada Census.
