Hello everyone, I found out last month that my family is supposed to be related to Giangiorgio Trissino (the writer of the first Italian tragedy, Sofonisba, and advisor to Popes Leo X, Clement VII, and Paul III). He was born in Vicenza, Italy on July 8,1478 to Gaspar Trissino and Cecilia Bevilacqua (of a long line of nobles). He married his first wife, Giovanna, on November 19, 1494 and they had several children, only two of which, Francesco and Giulio, made it to a significant age. Here that is past a month. Francesco lived from 1500-1514 while Giulio lived from 1504-1576.
Giovanna died in 1505 and Giangiorgio eventually married his cousin, Bianca Trissino on March 26, 1523. They had two kids: Ciro (1524-1574) and Cecilia (1526-1542). If there is a connection, I would think looking into the descendants of Giulio and Ciro.
Gian Giorgio died in Rome on December 8, 1550.
I would do this on my own but for two reasons:
1. my closest "known" ancestor, Gaspare Trizzino (1726?-1775?), lived TWO WHOLE CENTURIES AFTER GIANGIORGIO
2. I feel like I am at a point where going to Italy is the only real option to get any results.
Any ideas?

2. Trislaig=Trissino (I don't understand Italian, so I don't get this part )
3. He lived in many cities throughout his life
4. Giovanna was the daughter of Judge Francis Trislaig so she is also a cousin
