Advice before editing this pre-1700 Norton profile?

Alcott-171 would like to link John Norton, born 1699 in Guilford, Colony of CT, and husband of Mary (Morgan) to his father John Norton and mother Hannah Buck.

I am a direct descendant of John Norton and Mary Morgan Norton through their son Abraham Norton.

I believe I have the pre-1700 Badge.

Thank you.

You are pre-1700 certified, the badge is on your profile.

The earlier generations of this family could be in Jacobus’s Families of Ancient New Haven, this is a reliable resource by a well known and respected genealogist.

George, thank you so much for answering so quickly!  And appreciate that the WikiTree Family added the pre-1700 Badge to my profile.

I will definitely google Mr. Jacobus' _Families of Ancient New Haven_.  Just hope that John Norton, b. 1699, is in the Jacobus' book.  I believe his father John Norton, Sr. moved to Guilford before John, Jr.'s birth.

For the lineage society, Order of the Crown of Charlemagne (Gateway Ancestor, Ann Lloyd Eaton), I used Alvan Talcott's compilation "Families of Early Guilford, CT", published Baltimore, MD, 1984, page 879 for proof regarding John Norton and Mary Morgan.

My ancestor Theophilus Eaton was the first governor of NHC and held that position up until his death in 1657/58.

Mary (Morgan) Norton, my 7th great-grandmother, was Gov. Eaton's great-granddaughter.

WikiTree has been such a great help to me!  I really appreciate that contributors add primary documentation to profiles.

Linda
