I've seen a genealogy where his wife was said to be Sally Durham and a child said to be Jesse  Pitts, but that genealogy offered no documentation of those facts.

I found a marriage bond certificate for Salley Durham and William Pitts.  It was signed by her brother Nathaniel.  They married on 27 Nov 1807 in Orange County, North Carolina.  I couldn't find them on any census in any state.  I found other William Pitts in Indiana, and Georgia, but they weren't married to Salley.  Perhaps she died and he remarried and moved to another state, or perhaps these are other William Pitts.  Is she died early perhaps she is buried with her father John on his land.  No markers are left to prove this.
