Paul Klee needs a hand in connecting him to our family tree. His biography has some beginnings-names of his parents, and some great resources for continuing his tree. If you are skilled in Swiss, Bavarian, or German research, he could use your help!

Well, without digging into sources, I did what I could for him for the moment. He now has parents and a sister. I don't know enough about his wife to add her properly. If I have a bit more time later this weekend, I might come back after digging around a bit more.

Have a look at  https://paulklee.net/   this has more of a bio that talks about him being the second child. and that his Father came from "Tann and studied at the Stuttgart Conservatory singing, piano, organ and violin, where he met his future wife Ida Frick. Until 1931 Hans Wilhelm Klee was active as a music teacher at the Bern State Seminary in Hofwil near Bern."

https://paulklee.net/link.jsp has years of birth and death for his parents  In 1906 Marries Lily Stumpf (1876-1946) on 15 September. Lives at Ainmillerstr. 36 in the district of Schwabing, in Munich, from October.  Then in 1907 The Klee's son, Felix, is born on 30 November.

The Encyclopedia Britannica says his mother was from Basel.

Hi
German Wikipedia has his parents, wife, son and grandson. I added their profiles and some biographies.

Please someone with better English skills improve the biography of Paul Klee. There should be enough information in the English Wikipedia.

I will try to contact the grandson of Paul Klee to see if they or the museum have a family tree or other information about his parents.
And I will take a picture of his grave, which still exists.

Question: how does Wikitree handle a notable Person who is still living? The grandson of Paul Klee also is an artist and has a German Wikipedia article, but as he's still living, hes profile would be protected.

If we want to create his profile, we would add the Notables project account as manager (or co-manager) of the account and that way when he passes (hopefully many years down the road) then someone would be able to open his account for editing.
On another thought, if he actually wanted to join as a member, he could even manage his own profile - so I don't want to rule out that option as well.
Hi Scott
Thank you for your hints. Then I'll see if I can contact him and if he want's to join, that would be fine. If not, I will add him to the Notables project.
Thanks for all the research and reaching out, Isabelle and Scott!
Short update: The museum in Berne pointed me to a book with a small family tree, but it only has the years. Next step is to get the civil records of Berne, and then move on to the other cities.

It's quite a complicated family, as both father and wife of Paul Klee were from Germany, but of course not the same areas. Pauls mothers parents were from Basle (but she herself was born in France), there I will continue my research.

There already is a photograph of Paul Klees grave linked in his profile, so I will skip that.

If someone has time and interest, please feel free to correct Paul Klees biography. My English is not so good and it takes me ages to write a long text.
