Biography

Alice was the daughter and heir of Ralph de Arundel and Juliane.^[1][2] Her birth date is not known. She may have been born in Buckinghamshire: her parents, herself and her husband were all buried at Towersey, Buckinghamshire.^[1][2]

Alice married Batholomew Collingridge,^[3] who is recorded as farming land at Medmenham, Buckinghamshire and Shirburn, Oxfordshire,^[1][2] and who also held the manor of Quatremains, Great Milton, Oxfordshire.^[4] No record has been found of when they married. They had at least one child:

• William,^[3] who lived at Towersey, Buckinghamshire^[1][2]

Alice and her husband were buried at Towersey, Buckinghamshire. Her death date is not known.^[1][2] There is a memorial inscription mentioning her, her husband, their son William and her parents at Towersey, Buckinghamshire.^[3]

Research Notes

In his list of sources for Alice's granddaughter Alice, Douglas Richardson cites a number of older sources which say that her first name was Ursula, and that Ursula/Alice was the daughter of Alice FitzAlan/Arunbdel and Bartholomew Collingridge: these were the paternal grandparents of the Alice of this profile.^[1][2] See the granddaughter's profile for more discussion.
