Biography

Cecily was the oldest daughter of William and Eleanor (Dennis) Lygon who married in 1529 in Gloucestershire, England. The families were of England's Peerage or Aristocracy. Cecily was born around 1540 at Madresfield Court, Madresfield, Worcester, England. She married Edward Gorges of Wraxall, Esq. (1537-1568), in 1559 and they had at least 2 sons: Edward and Ferdinando Gorges, both later knighted. ^{[1] [2][3]}

Cecily died after Edward Gorge's death on August 29 1568 as she remarried to John Vivian, Esq. in 1569. No exact death date is known. She lived in metropolitan London, Middlesex, England.^[4]
